Jonathan Locations
Each our charter base has its reception office that is well marked and located at the marina entrance so that guests can find us quickly and easily. In case you arrive later than estimated you can call the Jonathan Yachting team responsible person on duty on the mobile phone number announced on the information board.
Your unique experience with us begins at the entrance. As we are aware that you have been on a long journey prior to arrival at our offices we will greet you in obliging and calm manner. We are committed to making your time with us as relaxing and enjoyable as possible and will try to assist you with all the necessary information and prompt service.
Documents
Upon your arrival we are kindly asking you to first arrange all the necessary paperwork. We would need following documents:
- Charter license - voucher,
- Boat driver permit or skipper-sailor-motorcyclist permit (original documents),
- Payment for cleaning and other expenses according to the additionally requested services,
- Caution-money deposit.
We would like to remind you that without the original permit or sailing exam we will not be able to rent you the vessel as well as you will not be able to get the certified crew list.
Vessel Takeover
We will hand you over the so-called
CHECK-IN
form and a member of the Jonathan team will escort you to the vessel and help you in taking over the vessel should you wish so. Takeover forms are designed in a way that inventory review and taking over of the charting boat can partly be done on your own. For each of our vessel we have equipment list.
Each vessel is technically arranged, everything that is needed for the safe sailing is checked as the boat is washed and thoroughly cleaned. It is in our interest to hand over the vessel as quickly as possible. The arranged vessel takeover time is on Saturday from 4 pm onwards or even before this time if the vessel is ready.
During the weekend the takeover time is on Friday from 10 am onwards. Each vessel has its owner therefore we are kindly asking you to use the equipment as well as the vessel in a conscience manner and as a good landlord.
Notification of Departure and Arrival among states
All our sailboats are insured and equipped for the open sea sailing. You can sail with them throughout the Mediterranean countries – Croatia, Italy, Greece, Spain, Malta, Turkey etc. Should you wish to travel among Slovenia, Croatia and Monte Negro, you have to notify your departure and arrival into the particular country. Here is a description of the departure procedure while leaving our headquarters in Portorož (SLO). The departure has to be notified with the maritime police in Piran where you have to certify the crew list. This takes only a few minutes. Upon arrival to Croatia you have to notify your arrival to the Croatian waters at the first port or marina where you would like to spend some time ashore. Notification in the Croatian waters passes quickly. But it is important to have by your side all the vessel documents, personal documents, original permit proving that you are capable of managing the vessels and completed crew list which has to be certified by the state border maritime police followed by harbourmaster's office. The same procedure will apply while leaving the Croatian waters but more rapid and even easier. Upon arrival to Slovenia you have to check in again with the maritime police on the state border in Piran.
If you are travelling in the direction of Italy we are kindly asking you to certify the completed crew list already with the maritime police in Piran and by doing this you are notifying your departure from Slovenia. We are asking you as well to have your personal and vessel documents as well as the lease license of the vessel you are sailing with ready in case of checking.

Vessel Renting
Vessel handing over takes place on Saturday from 8 am till 8.30 am (during the weekend the renting takes place on Sunday at 6 pm) in case you did not make other arrangements upon vessel takeover and completed the form accordingly or gave us a notice by phone in due time. We are kindly asking you to inform us about all eventual damages or technical failures upon your arrival to the base on Friday night or by phone. By doing this you will help us in preparing the vessel for its future customers rapidly and effectively. Upon handing over the vessel we will complete the CHECK-OUT form together.
