Jonathan Yachting offers professional support to all companies that would like to enter the waters of corporate sailing from the first steps of getting to know the various possibilities till the assistance in the creative solutions to promote the companies through these types of activities. Besides this Jonathan Yachting has an already established team that offers topmost logistics support to the companies, congress and conference organizers, international business associations as well as international sailing classes while organizing the events from local to the world extensiveness. To get to know our activities we are presenting three such events.
RC44 Sailing Class Portorož Cup
Russell Coutts, for many the world-best sailor and indisputable the sole skipper to win the America's Cup three times in history, has designed together with the Slovene nautical engineer Andrej Justin a sailboat which they both like to describe as the “uncompromised” RC 44 boat that is also known as the saling formula 1. RC 44 sailboat is a unique combination for those who yearn for special sailing pleasures as well as for top professional sailors who would like to improve themselves because it combines the qualities of an Olympic sailboat as well as the qualities of an America's Cup sailing boat. Justin and Coutts established a sailing class RC44
that would like to keep the “one design” RC 44 characteristics and it assures that all sailboats are as equal as possible. This means that the RC44 regattas are real top-notch events for the viewers.
Portorož is known as the cradle of the RC44 sailing class and as such even became little "America's Cup" as it provides the meeting place for the world's best sailors. Jonathan Yachting offered its logistics support to the organizers of the event Portorož cup that was previously organized by Yachting Club Portorož. It also cooperates with Slovene syndicate Ekipa44
that competes in this class. At the end let us mention that Portorož Cup 2007 was declared as the event of the year in the municipality of Piran.
Hofbauer Cup
Since 2000 the renowned sailing school from Vienna, Segelschule Hofbauer has been organizing a sailing cup that became a permanent event in the Austrian regatta calendar and also counts for the BMW Austria Race Trophy. Then idea was born when Jutta and Karl Hofbauer, Markus Grießler as well as Anka and Rudi Frantar sat together in Marina Portorož and engaged themselves in creative talk about giving the old Danube school regattas a new dimension. They decided to present the charm and unique sailing conditions in the Portorož bay to the sailing enthousiasts in Vienna. At that point nobody knew that a superb event will evolve from this idea. In each April beginners and professionals gather in Portorož bay under the following motto "tough competion during the day and relaxing, funny atmosphere during the night". The number of contestants remains the same as the organizers are limiting the number of sailboats to 30. Only by doing this the atmosphere remains friendly and personal contact is preserved. The event is therefore always very attractive and interesting for the spectators that arrive together with the contestants. Jonathan Yacthing in collaboration with Yachting Club Portorož and Marina Portorož offers support in the organization of this event. Ideas, plans and well-trained organizers are surely a guaranty that the event will be progressing successfully; wide response of the participats is on the other hand the acknowledgment and confirmation that the format of the event is accurate.
Sailing Regatta of the University of Ljubljana
Sailing is a great way to encourage the social contacts and atmosphere not only in business organization but also in educational institutions. Jonathan Yacthing successfully cooperates with the Sport society of the University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical Faculty. The regatta was first introduced in 2003 and since then has evolved into a traditional regatta. It is one of the events where students and employees of the University of Ljubljana compete together. Sport Association of the University of Ljubljana has taken over the organization of this event. The leader and the soul of the event is Mr. Milan Pavič who is also a member of the afore-mentioned sport society. The purpose of the regatta is besides the competition itself the socializing of the University of Ljubljana students and employees as well as the getting to know sailing and its pleasures. More than 100 participants set off to the sea and fight for the transitional trophy each year in the beginning of April.
Skiers under Sails
ZAH - Alpine skiing association of western Slovene regions skiing clubs is an association that has its headquarters in Radovljica and unites 12 active skiing clubs. These clubs are successfully bringing up new generations of Slovene alpine skiers that are trying to win various cups and are paving their way into the international skiing arena. An idea to organize the season endings at sea emerged. This is a nice contrast and a right milieu for the "après-ski" events after a long and strenous season. Bojan Kavčič (ZAH secretary) and Rudi Frantar were the ones who thought of this idea that surely brings special sailing memories to all young skiers. Season prize bestowal is therefore set in a nice ambience on boats sailing in the Portorož bay. Other interesting surprises are also part of this event. That is also why this idea aroused much enthusiasm. The first event in 2005 attracted more than 90 participants. This was also the reason why the next year we had to organize a two-day event with doubled the number of participants. Yet another successful example of incorporating sea and sailing in order to upgrade other stories...
